In honor of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, distinguished social theorist Patricia Hill Collins will speak on March 8 at 6:30 p.m. on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, in Theater 1 of the Cultural Arts Center. The title of her talk is "Black Feminism, Intersectionality, and Democratic Possibilities."

Currently, Patricia Hill Collins is a Distinguished University Professor at University of Maryland. Her research and scholarship examines issues of race, gender, social clas, sexuality, and nation.
