In honor of International Women's Day and Women's History Month, distinguished social theorist Patricia Hill Collins will speak on March 8 at 6:30 p.m. on the Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus, in Theater 1 of the Cultural Arts Center. The title of her talk is "Black Feminism, Intersectionality, and Democratic Possibilities."

Currently, Patricia Hill Collins is a Distinguished University Professor at University of Maryland. Her research and scholarship examines issues of race, gender, social clas, sexuality, and nation. Her full bio and CV are available at the UMD website,
