How Will the Developmental Math Restructure Affect You?

The Math and Statistics Department is working on a new co-requisite model of developmental math education. In the new approach, eligible students will spend at most one semester in a developmental math class. Two of our college level classes-MATH 110 and MATH 117-would have sections requiring students to do extra class time where they are remediated in a "just in time" fashion. This is similar to what we already do in MATH 115A and 117A; the primary difference is that the developmental content is integrated throughout the semester and carefully aligned with the specific skills required to be successful in the course.

These changes will affect all programs at the College. Please join us at an information session to learn more about these impacts on both course sequence and advising before this goes to the College-wide Curriculum Committee:

Germantown: Friday, October 6, 2-3:30 PM, HT 216
Takoma Park: Tuesday, October 10, 2-3:30 PM, CM 211
Rockville: Wednesday, October 25, 2-3:30 PM, GU 222-224
