The event is scheduled for February 7, 2020, 9 a.m.-2 p.m., on the Rockville Campus and will begin with an opening session in the Theater Arts Arena.

The first 50 college employees to register for Montgomery College's first Spring Equity Dialogue will receive a free copy of Robin DiAngelo's White Fragility: Why It's So Hard for White People to Talk About Racism. The book figures into one of the event's breakout sessions. Act now by registering through MCLearns under the Diversity and Multiculturalism tab.

Taking a cue from President Pollard's call for a "speak up culture" at Montgomery College, the theme for the Spring Equity Dialogue is "Speak Up, Speak Out." The dialogue will feature concurrent breakout sessions addressing different historically underserved groups, as well as a larger sharing session, enabling participants to both be heard and learn. Making everyone feel welcome at Montgomery College means being brave enough to share our own experiences and hold each other accountable.

Attendees can also expect some hard-hitting skits performed by Montgomery College students and employees.
