Published: Wednesday, October 14, 2026

Advising Day 2026 will bring colleagues together to strengthen our shared understanding of student advising, build connections across the College, and expand the network of resources that helps students persist, achieve their goals, and thrive.

This engaging professional development event will take place on Tuesday, October 20, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. This required professional development event will be held in person on each campus and is designated as a non-instructional duty day for full-time faculty. Part-time faculty are also very welcome to attend.

Advising Day will bring together faculty and student support professionals to strengthen our shared commitment to student success through interactive sessions, student perspectives, collaborative activities, and practical advising tools, including Starfish, Degree Works, and Degree Planner. Participants will have opportunities to connect with colleagues across the College, enhance their advising knowledge, and earn MC's Advising Foundations Badge.

The Advising Day events will be held on each of MC's three campuses, and faculty are asked to attend the event at their home campus. The day's events will begin at the locations listed below:

  • Rockville: Theatre Arts Arena
  • Germantown: Globe Hall
  • TP/SS: Cultural Arts Center
