New Academic Calendar Committee Pages are Available

Dear Colleagues, The entire Montgomery College community is invited to review proposed Academic Year Calendars at our new CMS Web page http://cms.montgomerycollege.edu/edu/departmentCAS.aspx?id=8427. You will be asked to provide your MyMC password to view the new Academic Calendar Committee pages, but all the links will be available once you are logged in. The Academic Calendar Committee revised and updated plans for 2011-12 at the end of last school year; therefore, we are asking you to review next year's calendar a bit earlier than usual. Of course, you are welcome to review and comment on any proposed calendar up to and including 2014-2015. We will post a future calendar (2015-16) later this semester. In the 2011-12 proposal, classes start the Wednesday before Labor Day (August 31), with weekend classes starting the weekend after Labor Day, September 10 and 11, and classes that meet only on Mondays starting September 12. In the spring, classes begin Monday, January 23 and the school year ends Friday, May 18. Comments, questions, and concerns can be sent through a link on the Calendar Committee web pages, or emailed to calendar.committee@montgomerycollege.edu. Please note that this year's calendar, updated with the planned furlough dates, is available at: www.montgomerycollege.edu/dates. With thanks for your help, Christina Devlin Chair, Academic Calendar Committee christina.devlin@montgomerycollege.edu
