To the College Community: Technology changes quickly - and our students are on the leading edge of change. To help all of us keep pace, the Office of Information Technology has partnered with lynda.com to bring all Montgomery College credit students, faculty, and staff access to an online video-based content library that includes thousands of courses on subjects in fields as varied as:

• Microsoft and Adobe software products
• Computer programming
• Web design
• Business and workplace skills
• Teaching and education
• Personal creativity

You can browse the entire catalog by going to http://www.lynda.com/subject/all. The lynda.com cloud-based training service offers an exceptional number of up-to-the-minute courses that teach the latest technology, creative and business skills through high-quality instructional videos. Content is optimized for mobile devices, and can be accessed from on and off-campus. Bookmarks, closed-captioning, searchable transcripts, and personalized profiles with certificates of completion are available, and the service is directly integrated with the popular LinkedIn platform. Of special importance to the College, lynda.com content can:

• Supplement existing College curricula to support the flipped classroom learning model
• Replace or supplement textbooks by delivering content from experts using a resource that is free to students and continually updated
• Integrate with Blackboard courses
• Promote employee growth and workforce readiness by helping staff learn new technologies and workplace skills

Those of you who may have established individual lynda.com subscriptions in the past can now save the cost of your membership by using the College provided service instead. This will be particularly important to our students! Students will also be able to integrate their lynda.com course completion certificates with their LinkedIn profiles--and share the skills and knowledge they've acquired with prospective employers.
