MC/AFI Film Series Screening of "Mr. Deeds Goes To Town" - March 2, 6:30 p.m. at AFI Silver Theatre

Please join us as the MC/AFI Film Series continues for the Spring 2016 semester. Our next screening will be the 1936 screwball comedy classic, Mr. Deeds Goes To Town. The film stars screen legends Gary Cooper and Jean Arthur and was directed by Frank Capra, also known for directing Mr. Smith Goes To Washington and It's A Wonderful Life. This eighty-year-old film contains populist themes that still resonate today. And, like many Capra films, it's filled with numerous memorable side characters. The screening begins at 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by a discussion led by David Rothman, professor of film. The screening and discussion are open to the public. The AFI Silver is located in the heart of downtown Silver Spring at 8633 Colesville Road. Special $6 admission with MC id.
