Middle States Self-Study Fast Facts
Here are some fast facts you'll find when you read the Middle States Self-Study, which is available at www.montgomerycollege.edu/middlestates18: Standard I highlights examples of how each of the four major divisions of the College (Academic Affairs, Administrative and Fiscal Services, Student Affairs, and Advancement and Community Engagement) use the mission and vision as a guide to their unit's work that focuses on student success. Standard II demonstrates how Montgomery College "walks the talk" when it comes to equity and inclusion: *Created an Office of Equity and Inclusion and recruited for and appointed a chief equity and inclusion officer (CEIO) who will drive the College's efforts in this area. *Participates in Achieving the Dream (ATD) and actively promotes learning, equity, diversity, and cultural responsiveness to support student success and retention. *Was awarded the 2017 Association of Community College Trustees Northeast Region Equity Award, which recognizes exemplary commitment to achieving equity in the College's education programs and services and in the administration and delivery of those programs and services. Standard III demonstrates Montgomery College's commitment to student success as evidenced by the student focused learning initiatives in the Academic Master Plan such as embedded support, alternative and long term scheduling planning, alternative placement and credentialing initiatives and pathways between Work Force Continuing Ed and Credit programs among others.
